Christopher Nolan is a British-American film director, screenwriter and producer. He created several of the most successful movies of the 21^st century; eight of his films have made over $3.5 billion worldwide. He has created some of the most famous films of this era: The dark knight trilogy (2005-2012), Following (1998), Inception (2010) and Insomnia (2002).

Christopher Nolan started directing films after he graduated from university. He started by directing corporate videos and industrial films giving himself some confidence in film making letting him move on to a film called Doodlebug (1997), but this did not get him noticed, he had very little success of getting his films out to the media.

One of the best films he has done is the dark knight trilogy. Batman begins was one of the biggest projects that Christopher Nolan had done at the time. Batman begins was the eighth highest grossing film in 2005 in the united states and the years ninth highest grossing film worldwide. It was nominated for the academy award for best cinematography and three BAFTA awards. The was cited as one of the best films of the 2000s and one of the best superhero films ever. It got $1,004,558,444.
